“Polio? Oh yes, I remember polio”
Well it hasn’t gone away you know.
It’s still rife in foreign climes.
So Bill and Melinda, with their dollars and dimes,
Have set us a challenge that we can’t afford to decline.
Polio cripples children and blights people’s lives
It only takes a vaccine, but still it survives.
Simple immunisation is the key to its end
Which is why we Rotarians now turn to our friends.
The Gates have given millions to this cause they hold dear
And they are the reason why we find ourselves here.
“End Polio Now” is the Rotarians’ plea
And we’re asking for you all to give generously.
For our campaign has gone global
Now every country is local
And there’s a time that we all want to see
When the world is declared to be “Polio Free”.
